Who organizes this event

MENA ORG is the local organizer of the NASA Space Apps Challenge in Jordan. MENA ORG is an independent organization. It is not NASA, is not part of NASA, and does not speak for NASA or for any Space Agency Partner.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global programme. Your participation in it is governed by the official participant terms published by NASA Space Apps, which take precedence over this page wherever the two differ.

Official NASA registration is separate, and required

Every team member must register on the official NASA Space Apps platform before the team lead submits this local form. The two registrations are separate.

We cannot register anyone on the official platform or complete that step on a team's behalf.

Registration and places

The team lead must choose Amman or Aqaba and submit a team of four to six members. Amman participation is in person. Aqaba teams may participate remotely or attend in person at the Amman event. Overnight accommodation is not provided; teams arrange their own travel and stay.

One team submission per contact email per local event. To change a location or correct team details, email contact@menaorg.com.

Registration closes on the date announced on this website. Eligibility requirements for the local event are announced on this website; where a requirement applies, meeting it is your responsibility.

The information you give us

The team lead submits the team name and each member's name, email, phone number and under-18 status, along with organization and education details, the lead's background, participation history, and the declarations shown in the form.

The team lead must have each member's permission to submit their details. Under-18 members need signed guardian consent and a registered adult shepherd who is separate from the team roster for in-person attendance. Optional emergency, health or accessibility information is used only to support participation.

Conduct at the event

Participants are expected to treat each other, mentors, judges, volunteers and venue staff with respect. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation and abuse are not tolerated.

You are expected to follow the instructions of the organizing team and the rules of the venue you attend. The organizers may ask anyone whose conduct is unsafe or seriously disruptive to leave the event.

Bring your own equipment where you can. You are responsible for your own belongings.

Your work

You keep ownership of the work you and your team create. Registering for this event transfers no ownership of it to MENA ORG.

Projects submitted to the global competition are governed by the official NASA Space Apps terms, including any requirements those terms place on licensing and publication. Read them before you submit.

We may describe or show projects when reporting on the event, for example on this website, in a recap, or to sponsors. We will credit the team.

Photography and recording

The event is photographed and recorded. Images and recordings may be used to report on the event and to promote future editions.

If you do not want to appear, tell a member of the organizing team at the venue or email contact@menaorg.com, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Changes to the event

Dates, venues, schedule, mentors, judges and prizes may change. Where they do, the change is announced on this website.

The event may be postponed, moved, or cancelled for reasons outside our control. Registration is free of charge, so no fee is refundable; costs you incur in order to attend, such as travel or accommodation, are your own.

Limits

The event is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, MENA ORG is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your participation, from changes to the event, or from your use of this website.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Jordan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
