LOCAL WEBSITE / PRIVACY
Clear data.
Clear purpose.
This policy explains what MENA ORG collects when you register for the NASA Space Apps Challenge local event in Amman or Aqaba, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who is responsible
MENA ORG, the local organizer of the NASA Space Apps Challenge in Jordan, decides what is collected here and why. Contact us at contact@menaorg.com.
MENA ORG is not NASA and does not act for NASA. If you register on the official NASA Space Apps platform, that is a separate organization with its own privacy policy, and this one does not cover it.
Official NASA Space Apps participant termsWhat the registration form collects
The team lead's contact email, the team name, local event and participation mode, and each member's name, email, phone number and under-18 status. We also collect organization and school information; the lead's nationality, city, education, occupation, optional profile link and project history; and the team's prior Space Apps participation.
The form records agreement to event rules, member permission, guardian-consent confirmation where needed, a photography choice and privacy acceptance. The lead may optionally provide an emergency contact, health or accessibility needs, and additional notes.
Read the Terms & ConditionsWhy we collect it
To run the event: to assess team registration, plan capacity and attendance, contact the team lead, manage under-18 participation, respond to emergencies, and support any accessibility needs voluntarily shared.
The photography choice is recorded separately and may be declined without blocking a team submission.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we deliberately do not store
We do not store your IP address. To stop the form being abused we keep a one-way cryptographic digest instead, which cannot be turned back into an address.
Where we log that an email was sent, we store a digest of the recipient rather than the address itself, so those logs are not a contact list.
The form contains a hidden field used to catch automated submissions. Whatever is placed in it is discarded and never stored.
We do not collect identity documents or payment details. Health or accessibility details are optional; provide only information needed by the local organizers to support attendance.
Where it is kept, and who else can see it
Registrations are stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt), and the service that receives the form runs on Vercel in the same region.
The organizing team can see registrations through an administrator area that requires a password and records who looked at what.
Where the event sends confirmation emails, they are delivered by an email provider acting on our instructions. We do not share your information with sponsors or partners as a contact list.
How long we keep it
We keep registration information for as long as we need it to run the 2026 event and for a limited period afterwards to report on it, then delete it.
If you want your information removed sooner, email contact@menaorg.com and we will delete it, unless we are required to keep it.
What you can ask for
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or change your photography choice. A team member can contact us directly about information submitted on their behalf.
Email contact@menaorg.com and tell us what you would like. We may ask you to confirm the email address you registered with, so that we do not disclose someone else's information.
This website
The website itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies and carries no third-party trackers. Fonts and images are served with the site rather than fetched from another company.
The registration form sends what you enter directly to our own service. Links to the official NASA Space Apps platform and to social media lead to sites with their own policies.
Changes
